Chase × DoorDash: How to Use Your Credits (and Actually Save!)
If you’ve got a Chase card in your wallet, there’s a good chance you’re sitting on easy savings with DoorDash. Whether you’re grabbing road-trip snacks, cold meds for a kiddo, or a last‑minute ingredient you forgot for dinner (been there!), these monthly and quarterly credits can add up fast—especially if you use pickup instead of delivery.

I'm always looking for ways to get perks out of my credit card especially if I'm paying an annual fee. This is one of my favorite perks because I get a treat and to spoil myself or I stock up on snacks for movie nights at our house!
Below I’ll show you what each card gets, how to turn everything on, and the simple steps we follow to squeeze every dollar out of this perk.
Quick Look: What You Get by Card
Good through December 31, 2027 unless noted. Benefits usually require DashPass to be active and you must pay with the eligible Chase card at checkout.
Chase Sapphire Preferred®
- Free DashPass through 12/31/2027 (or at least one year from activation if you start late)
- $10 monthly promo on eligible non‑restaurant orders while enrolled in DashPass
Why we like it: Easy $120/year in value if you use it monthly—more than the annual fee back just from snacks, household items, or quick grocery fills. Use them every month and you are making money when you girl math like me!
Chase Sapphire Reserve®
- Free DashPass through 12/31/2027 (or at least one year from late activation)
- Two separate $10 monthly promos on eligible non‑restaurant orders while enrolled in DashPass
- $5 monthly dining credit (separate from the non‑restaurant credits)
Why we like it: The double $10s can cover two quick pickups a month (think: sports practice snacks + cold brew run).
Ink Business Preferred®
- Free DashPass through 12/31/2027 (or at least one year from late activation)
- $10 monthly promo on eligible non‑restaurant orders while enrolled in DashPass
Why we like it: Easy $120/year in value if you use it monthly—more than the annual fee back just from snacks, household items, or quick grocery fills. Use them every month and you are making money when you girl math like me!
Freedom & Slate (consumer no‑AF cards)
- DashPass for 6 months if activated on or after 2/1/2025
- One $10 promo per quarter on eligible non‑restaurant orders while enrolled in DashPass
Co‑Branded Chase Cards (Hyatt, United, Southwest, Avios, Disney, Marriott, IHG, Aeroplan, etc.)
- DashPass for 12 months after activation
- One $10 promo per quarter on eligible non‑restaurant orders while enrolled in DashPass
- Not all co‑brands are included (e.g., Amazon Rewards Visa, Instacart Mastercard, DoorDash Mastercard are excluded)
You can’t stack co‑brand benefits with Sapphire benefits on the same DoorDash account.
What Counts (and What Doesn’t)
- The $10 promos apply to non‑restaurant merchants—think grocery, convenience, liquor, retail, DashMart.
- Delivery orders can still make sense when a separate DoorDash promo is running, but you’ll owe a tip and possibly service fees.
- Pickup avoids most fees and is usually the best way to turn the $10 into true savings.
Step‑by‑Step: Turn It On and Use It
- Create/Log in to DoorDash.
- Add your eligible Chase card.
- Activate DashPass from the Chase prompt.
- After adding the card, look for the banner to enable Chase DashPass benefits

- Choose Pickup (or Delivery if you’re time‑crunched).
- Search non‑restaurant stores.
- Fill your cart to $10. Aim for as close to this as you get so it's truly FREE!
- Double‑check it’s set to Pickup.

- Check out to complete your order. Make sure to toggle the Chase benefit on so the $10 applies.

- Place the order & pick up.
- Repeat monthly (or quarterly).
Maximizing the Value (Our Real‑Life Tips)
- Pickup > Delivery for the cleanest savings (no tip or delivery/service fees).
- Stack promos when available (DoorDash sometimes runs 20–50% off deals for DashPass members).
- Use store coupons for an extra layer of savings.
- Don’t get upsold during checkout—ignore add‑ons you don’t need.
- Get close to $10 to avoid wasting value.
- Consider family accounts: you only get the monthly/quarterly credit on the DoorDash account that has DashPass activated with the eligible card. Teens/college kids can run their own account + benefit if you want to spread the love.
- Set up different DoorDash accounts, using different email addresses) for each card so you can redeem all your credits. You will need separate accounts for each credit card.
Easy order ideas: sports drinks + granola bars, kids’ fever reducer, dishwasher pods, milk + eggs in a pinch, sparkling water cases, coffee beans.
FAQs
Do I need DashPass active for the credits to work?
Yes—these promos are tied to having DashPass turned on via your eligible Chase card.
Can I stack multiple Chase credits in one order?
Reserve’s two $10 credits are separate; otherwise assume one credit per order.
What if I don’t see the credit?
Make sure you (1) added the right card and have it set as a default payment, (2) activated DashPass, (3) are buying from a non‑restaurant merchant, and (4) flipped the Chase benefit toggle ON at final checkout.
Can I use this while traveling?
Absolutely. Search Pickup near your hotel or along your route. It’s clutch for road trips.
The Bottom Line
If you’re already paying for a Chase card, don’t leave this money on the table. Turn on DashPass, use pickup, and make a habit of knocking out a quick $10 order every month (or every quarter on select cards). It’s painless, practical, and the savings add up—exactly our kind of perk.
